Legacy to Infor Data Migration
Background: Brompton Bicycle is a leading producer of high-quality folding bicycles. The company has been in business for over 40 years and has a global customer base. Brompton has always been committed to using the latest technology to improve its operations and better serve its customers. The company decided to upgrade its ERP to Infor CSI. The main objectives for Developex were to migrate all finance data, including open invoices and payments on accounts payable and accounts receivable, as well as all general ledger balances and open purchase orders.
Challenges: The sheer amount of data that needed to be migrated was a challenge as Brompton had been using its legacy system for over 15 years and had accumulated a significant amount of financial data. This meant that the data migration process had to be carefully planned and executed to ensure that all data was transferred accurately and efficiently.
Extensive testing was needed to ensure that the new system was working properly. The finance team at Brompton needed to be confident that the new system was able to handle all of the financial data and processes required for the business to operate smoothly. This required a lot of testing and fine-tuning to ensure that the new system was fully operational.
Solutions:To overcome these challenges, Brompton's finance team worked closely with the vendor and an external consulting firm to carefully plan and execute the data migration process. The team spent a significant amount of time researching the best practices for data migration and developing a detailed plan to ensure that all data was transferred accurately and efficiently.
To ensure that the new system was fully operational, the finance team conducted extensive testing to identify any issues and ensure that they were addressed before the new system went live. The team also provided training to all users to ensure that they were familiar with the new system and able to use it effectively.
